{"id":1610,"date":"2017-06-02T12:09:16","date_gmt":"2017-06-02T10:09:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lorenzpotthast.de\/9483km-843ms\/?page_id=1610"},"modified":"2017-07-06T14:40:58","modified_gmt":"2017-07-06T12:40:58","slug":"travel","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/lorenzpotthast.de\/9483km-843ms\/travel\/","title":{"rendered":"Travel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From middle of February 2017 I spent three weeks travelling through South Africa following the SEACOM cable and visiting various other stations on the way.<br \/>\nI started my travel in Durban, where I met with different people involved with digital technology and the arts and conducted various interviews. From Durban I did trips to iSithumba, a rural village in KwaZulu-Natal, and Mtunzini, a coastal village where the SEACOM cable takes landfall. In Mtunzini I had a tour at the cable station and looked for traces of the cable on the beach. The last week of my travel I spent in Johannesburg where I visited the SEACOM main office and met with the artistic director of the International Symposium on Electronic Arts (ISEA) which will happen in Durban in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>During the travel I wrote an extensive daily diary to reflect about my impressions and thoughts.
