In this third-semester course the students explored the connection between music, animation and moving images. The first weeks we spend with student presentations on different time periods on the history of music videos and analysis of principle relations between sound and image. In paralell the students gained practical inputs into working with sound and motion through little exercises. Afterwards they chose a section of a song and created a short visualisation accompaniying the music utiliting techniqes of Motion Design. The results reached from abstract, audio-reactive animations over illustrative 2D animations to real-footage music videos.
